Yong Qian received his BSc. in Chemistry from Lanzhou University. While a PhD student at the University of Alberta, Yong developed near-infrared fluorescent probes for monitoring neuronal activity. As a postdoctoral scholar, Yong focuses on developing new fluorescent indicators of biological functions.
