Erica Jung

Erica Jung, while a postdoctoral associate in the Synthetic Neurobiology group at the MIT Media Lab, worked on novel directed evolution methods and their application to the creation of better fluorescent voltage indicators. Before this appointment, she received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University. Her research focus at Cornell was to integrate optical, biological, and microfluidic components in miniaturized systems for novel applications in reconfigurable photonics and photobioreactors. After finishing her postdoc at MIT, she moved on to a tenure-track faculty job at U Illinois Chicago.
