Yasu earned her B.Sc. in Material Physics at Wuhan University, and completed her Ph.D. in Biophysics at Cornell University. Her doctoral research primarily revolved around engineering a toggle switch using dFnCas12a within the CRISPR system. She also played a key role in developing high-throughput assays for characterizing target affinity across various CRISPR-Cas proteins. In her current role as a postdoc in the Synthetic Neurobiology Group, she is actively engaged in developing various molecular platforms for biomining projects.
