Kyungman graduated from KAIST with a bachelor degree in Computer Science, and then became a graduate student in Bio&Brain Engineering at KAIST, working with Prof. Chris Fiorillo. His research in the lab, as a visiting Ph.D. student, focused on developing and applying optogenetic tools to study the circuit mechanisms of reward and drug addiction. After completing his research affiliateship, he returned to KAIST to complete his Ph.D.
