Hiroyuki Kusaka was a visiting scientist from Fujikura Ltd. He completed his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tsukuba, with a theme of electron transport in nanoscale structures. After joining Fujikura, he worked on various photonics projects, including wavelength converters, silicon photonics modulators, and fiber lasers. He also engaged in AI development for industrial use. While in the Synthetic Neurobiology group, he was in charge of designing and testing optical devices, made via implosion fabrication.
