Daniel Oran

Daniel received a BA in Photography and Natural Science from Hampshire College where he developed unique photographic processes for making art. Afterwards he proceeded to work as an archivist, printmaker, and experimental photographer before returning to his studies of the sciences. He was then a LEAP student at BU pursuing a MS in Materials Science. With his research in the Synthetic Neurobiology group, Daniel aimed to explore the space between nanotechnology and synthetic biology in order to create new tools that can advance the understanding and control of biological systems, ultimately resulting a new technology for 3-D nanofabrication, “implosion fabrication.”
