Catherine is a PhD student in the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT. Originally from Maryland, she graduated from Boston University’s College of Engineering and Kilachand Honors College with a major in Biomedical Engineering and a concentration in Nanotechnology. She hopes to leverage her background in tissue engineering and machine learning to develop new tools to study and manipulate complex biological systems. Her specific interest lies in creating technologies that alter the spatial and optical properties of tissue to enable more effective imaging strategies. She is co-advised by Laurie Boyer and Ed Boyden.
