During his time in the lab, Albert was a MD candidate at Harvard Medical School. During his research year, he worked in the Synthetic Neurobiology group, applying opsin technologies to multiple problems in the space of regenerative medicine. His work on metabolism earned one of the Harvard/MIT Joint Research Grants in Basic Neuroscience, the first year they were offered. Before he began his M.D. studies, he received his B.S. in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2008. After completing his research, he returned to his medical training at Harvard Medical School.
